What makes Focus on Testing different?

Here at Focus on Testing we provide PAT Testing nationwide for businesses of all shapes and sizes, professionally carried out by our city and guilds qualified engineers. We provide a unique colour-coded label system which changes each year, for example 2017 is coloured blue whereas 2016 was coloured green. The days of scrambling around on your hands and knees looking for tiny dates are over; if its blue it was tested in 2017...job done.

After we have carried out the test, the report is typed up digitally and loaded onto our portal. Each client has their own unique, secure account which can be accessed at any time. This is extremely helpful for audits and inspections; you know exactly where to find your report. We also provide a certificate which shows that you are up-to-date and fully compliant.

To ensure the highest quality of standards, we do not sub-contract our work to other companies. All of our engineers are fully security screened in order for them to work in environments such as schools, nurseries, hospitals, care homes etc. and will arrive on site at a pre-agreed time and date in full uniform carrying photographic identification.

Do insurance companies mandate PAT Testing?

Employers have a duty of care with respect to your insurers & the risks they take in underwriting your business. Many Businesses are unaware of the Insurance implications of not having an up-to-date Portable Appliance Testing program in place. Failure to carry out the necessary tests may result in your insurance company refusing to pay out in the unfortunate circumstances of an accident or a fire. Did you know that over 25% of fires start from portable appliances in the UK?

How often should PAT testing be carried out?

Frequency of testing depends on the type of equipment and the environment in which it is used. For example, a school would require PAT testing more often than an office, as its classified higher risk. The frequencies we recommend are based on the guidelines by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) Institution and our own experience.
